Sis Hinckley's wisdom
Marjorie Pay Hinckley was such a wise woman. Here are some of my favorite quotes from her:
“We women have a lot to learn about simplifying our lives. We have to decide what is important and then move along at a pace that is comfortable for us. We have to develop the maturity to stop trying to prove something. We have to learn to be content with what we are.”
“As you create a home, don't get distracted with a lot of things that have no meaning for you or your family. Don't dwell on your failures, but think of your successes. Have joy in your home. Have joy in your children. Have joy in your husband. Be grateful for the journey.”
“I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails.
I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp.
I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children.
I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden.
I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder.
I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived.”

I love Sister Hinckley. Such a wise woman. I like how she talks about instead of dwelling on how overwhelmed we are with all of the things we feel we have to do in a day, we should concentrate on what's important and feel we've won if we've accomplished just what's TRULY important in this life. Throw out all the unnecessary stuff.
I agree with Amy's comment.
What an example, thanks for sharing mom.
those are my two favorites too! such a good remind of what's really important. love you!
